OPI Hello Kitty Collection (Holiday 2019)
Celebrate the 2019 season with The Hello Kitty Holiday Collection by OPI.
Three years ago, Hello Kitty and OPI collaborated for the first time and created a collection inspired by the cute kitty herself. The collection went on to be one of OPI's most popular, so of course in 2019 they've come back with 12 gorgeous polishes and 3 glitters inspired by Hello Kitty once again!
This OPI Hello Kitty Holiday Collection is available now.
I picked these up from polishpick.com for $6.50 each. I did not pick up the glitters because, I just never ever wear glitters and I didn't want them to just lay around unused.
Now on to the swatches!
GLITTER TO MY HEART | Glitter To My Heart is the only topper that I picked up, and it's super cute for winter. This clear base is packed with matte white and silver hex glitters. I layered one coat of this over "Hello Pretty".
A HUSH OF BLUSH | A Hush Of Blush is a truly gorgeous light blush pearl polish. The formula was a little thin with this one, but I got it fully opaque in 3 easy coats.
LET'S BE FRIENDS | OPI's best seller is back with a slightly different formula! Let's Be Friends is a very light pink cream polish -- and a re-release from the first OPI x Hello Kitty collab. I don't have the original polish so I couldn't compare, but this one has a thin formula, it pooled at my cuticles a bit, and I had to build it up in 3 coats for even coverage.
ALL ABOUT THE BOWS | All About The Bows is a pretty classic hot pink crelly polish. I always say this, but colors like this are just not my favorite on me. I didn't notice any staining however, and I was able to get this pretty opaque in 2 coats. I see a little bit of nail line in my photo, but it doesn't show up in real life.
LET'S CELEBRATE! | Let's Celebrate! is surprisingly one of my favorites in this collection! This pink jelly base is jam packed with round iridescent glitters, and hot pink smaller glitters, and some holographic glitters. I think this looks pretty on it's own at 3 coats, since the base is a jelly, you can still see your nail line underneath.
A KISS ON THE CHIC | A Kiss On The Chic is your classic warm red polish cream for the holidays. This is no unique color, and the formula was a little thin making it tougher for me to work with, but I did get it to full opacity in 2 coats.
PILE ON THE SPRINKLES | Pile On The Sprinkles is the purple counter part to Let's Celebrate! I don't like this one as much as the pink version -- but this one is still super cute. This lavender jelly base is filled with the same iridescent shimmers, fine lavender glitters, and holographic glitters as Let's Celebrate! I used this in 3 coats over my bare nails.
LET LOVE SPARKLE | Not every polish is a hit in my book, and sadly Let Love Sparkle is a dud in this collection. In the bottle, this looks like it would be the perfect winter flurry polish, but the light blue pearl finish with silver glitters leaves the mani looking lumpy and not too cute on my. For this photo, I used 3 coats for full coverage.
MANY CELEBRATIONS TO GO! | On to a polish that I absolutely LOVE, Many Celebrations To Go! is a very pretty champaigny-gold shimmer with a little bit or pearlescent pigment in there! I love colors like this in the winter, and the formula on this one was great, opaque on me at 2 coats.
HELLO PRETTY | Hello Pretty is a juicy purple cream polish. I surprisingly do not have a shade like this is my collection, and I think it's super pretty! This is a crelly formula, so it is sheer on the first coat, and builds up to full opacity in 2 coats.
MY FAVORITE GAL PAL | My Favorite Gal Pal is a deep blue, with a hint of teal, crelly polish that builds up to full opacity in 2 coats. I did have a little bit of staining with this polish -- so a good base coat it highly recommended.
ISN'T SHE ICONIC! | Last but not least is Isn't She Iconic!, a deep slate silver shimmer with a hint of pearlescent pigments in there, aka a very similar formula to More Celebrations To Come. That being said, again the formula on this one was great, opaque on me at 2 coats.
There are a few polishes that I do love -- Let's Celebrate! and More Celebrations To Go! -- but overall I thought the rest were just okay, and that they didn't really evoke the Hello Kitty vibes I really wanted.

Final Thoughts on the OPI Hello Kitty Holiday 2019 Collection
Overall, I was so excited to get my hands on these polishes (one because I love Hello Kitty, and two, because I have been lusting after some of those original Hello Kitty polishes) but...I was a little underwhelmed. There are a few polishes that I do love -- Let's Celebrate! and More Celebrations To Go! -- but overall I thought the rest were just okay, and that they didn't really evoke the Hello Kitty vibes I really wanted.
