Sally Hansen x Crayola Spring Fling Collection Swatches and Review
My thoughts on the Sally Hansen x Crayola 2018 Spring Fling Collection.
Hello Lovelies! Today I am sharing with you six new limited edition creme pastels from the Sally Hansen x Crayola.
I had not seen any PR about this, but now that I look, there are a couple posts on the Sally Hansen Instagram from April when this collection launched.
The Sally Hansen and Crayola collaboration brings the ultimate feeling of nostalgia to the woman on the go. Those who once enjoyed the care-free pastime of coloring, can now enjoy that same sense of colorful creativity when painting her nails. With the Spring Fling collection, she is able to turn her tips into a spring-ready mani or pedi in just 10 minutes.
My first encounter with these was when I rounded the corner to a full display at my local Duane Reade (Walgreens). The first round of the Sally Hansen x Crayola “Back-to-School” collection came out last summer, with great success, and I was so excited to see them expand the range.
My local store only had three shades left, so I picked up the other three online from Target, but you can find these at Ulta and Walgreens/Duane Reade -- while supplies last! A lot of places are sold out of shades, so if you want these, you have to act fast!
Now onto the swatches of the Sally Hansen x Crayola 2018 Spring Fling Collection…
COTTON CANDY | Cotton Candy is the one polish in this collection that is not white based, but is actually a crelly formula. I wouldn’t consider this a pastel, but it is a typical spring shade. This was 2 easy coats, with a super glossy finish.
SEA GREEN | Last but not least is this beautiful sea foam/mint green pastel. Of course this pretty color fits into the collection perfectly, but it’s formula was very similar to that of Canary. It was very streaky on the first and second coats, but leveled out for me at 3 coats.
Final thoughts on the Sally Hansen x Crayola 2018 Spring Fling Collection.
Overall, are these colors unique? No, not to my collection at least, but they are still beautiful, and pretty affordable hovering around $4 from online retailers. I think if you are in the market for a nice pastel for the season, these are an affordable, accessible, and easy enough to apply.
As I mentioned above, these are limited edition, and some retailers are already sold out of some colors, so if you want these run out and buy them today!
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri did relaunch this past January with a sleeker packaging that match these Crayola polishes (but without the Crayola squiggle) and I love that redesign. These polishes usually last over a week with a nice top coat for me.
I reviewed a couple of the "Back-To-School Collection" last summer, and you can read that review here!
